Keith Martin resumes the fight

Private members bills - like government bills - die on the order paper when an election is called.

It is great to see that Keith Martin, Liberal MP for Esquimalt, has reintroduced his motion calling for the deletion of s. 13 of the Canadian Human Rights Act.

“M-153 — That, in the opinion of the House, subsection 13(1) of the Canadian Human Rights Act should be deleted from the Act.”

Martin also realizes that the conduct of the CHRC and its staff needs to be roughly investigated and has introduced a motion calling for hearings into that conduct.

“M-156 — That, in the opinion of the House, the government should hold public hearings as part of a review of the Canadian Human Rights Act, the Canadian Human Rights Commission and its tribunal.”

The Moon report will be out Monday and I suspect that we will see a damning but limited report which will call for reform rather than abolition. We are certainly seeing the s.13 supporters warming up the “mistakes were made and the legislation needs tweaking” spin.

It will be interesting to see how far Moon goes in actually investigating the practice of the CHRC. If he doesn’t find anything amiss one would wonder at his appointment; but it is extremely unlikely that he will really get down to cases such as the use of aliases, the false flag postings, the lies under oath , the improper relationships between the Commission staff and its complainant in chief or why that complainant left the Commission.

For the answers to those and many more interesting questions we will have to wait for further Court ordered releases of Commission documents and emails as well as the sure to be fascinating results of the ongoing Document Discoveries in the Warman v. the Freedom Five (or is it Six).

Sigh

I’m a Christian - albeit of watery Anglican faith - and I think these words are reprehensible but they are also important to read. Which means they are important to publish. If, after you read them you feel like beating up a homosexual, ask yourself what Jesus (not Mohammad) would do.

The CHRC has my address.

—–
Homosexual Agenda Wicked

The following is not intended for those who are suffering from an unwanted sexual identity crisis. For you, I have understanding, care, compassion and tolerance. I sympathize with you and offer you my love and fellowship. I prayerfully beseech you to seek help, and I assure you that your present enslavement to homosexuality can be remedied. Many outspoken, former homosexuals are free today.

Instead, this is aimed precisely at every individual that in any way supports the homosexual machine that has been mercilessly gaining ground in our society since the 1960s. I cannot pity you any longer and remain inactive. You have caused far too much damage.

My banner has now been raised and war has been declared so as to defend the precious sanctity of our innocent children and youth, that you so eagerly toil, day and night, to consume. With me stand the greatest weapons that you have encountered to date - God and the “Moral Majority.” Know this, we will defeat you, then heal the damage that you have caused. Modern society has become dispassionate to the cause of righteousness. Many people are so apathetic and desensitized today that they cannot even accurately define the term “morality.”

The masses have dug in and continue to excuse their failure to stand against horrendous atrocities such as the aggressive propagation of homo- and bisexuality. Inexcusable justifications such as, “I’m just not sure where the truth lies,” or “If they don’t affect me then I don’t care what they do,” abound from the lips of the quantifiable majority.

Face the facts, it is affecting you. Like it or not, every professing heterosexual is have their future aggressively chopped at the roots.

Edmund Burke’s observation that, “All that is required for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing,” has been confirmed time and time again. From kindergarten class on, our children, your grandchildren are being strategically targeted, psychologically abused and brainwashed by homosexual and pro-homosexual educators.

Our children are being victimized by repugnant and premeditated strategies, aimed at desensitizing and eventually recruiting our young into their camps. Think about it, children as young as five and six years of age are being subjected to psychologically and physiologically damaging pro-homosexual literature and guidance in the public school system; all under the fraudulent guise of equal rights.

Your children are being warped into believing that same-sex families are acceptable; that men kissing men is appropriate.

Your teenagers are being instructed on how to perform so-called safe same gender oral and anal sex and at the same time being told that it is normal, natural and even productive. Will your child be the next victim that tests homosexuality positive?

Come on people, wake up! It’s time to stand together and take whatever steps are necessary to reverse the wickedness that our lethargy has authorized to spawn. Where homosexuality flourishes, all manner of wickedness abounds.

Regardless of what you hear, the militant homosexual agenda isn’t rooted in protecting homosexuals from “gay bashing.” The agenda is clearly about homosexual activists that include, teachers, politicians, lawyers, Supreme Court judges, and God forbid, even so-called ministers, who are all determined to gain complete equality in our nation and even worse, our world.

Don’t allow yourself to be deceived any longer. These activists are not morally upright citizens, concerned about the best interests of our society. They are perverse, self-centered and morally deprived individuals who are spreading their psychological disease into every area of our lives. Homosexual rights activists and those that defend them, are just as immoral as the pedophiles, drug dealers and pimps that plague our communities.

The homosexual agenda is not gaining ground because it is morally backed. It is gaining ground simply because you, Mr. and Mrs. Heterosexual, do nothing to stop it. It is only a matter of time before some of these morally bankrupt individuals such as those involved with NAMBLA, the North American Man/Boy Lovers Association, will achieve their goal to have sexual relations with children and assert that it is a matter of free choice and claim that we are intolerant bigots not to accept it.

If you are reading this and think that this is alarmist, then I simply ask you this: how bad do things have to become before you will get involved? It’s time to start taking back what the enemy has taken from you. The safety and future of our children is at stake.

Rev. Stephen Boissoin
—-
A brief benediction,

Dear Lord, I pray that the Rev. Boissoin clues into the New Testament and the New Dispensation and stops being such a goof. It is a real pain, Lord, to have to defend the right of such cretinous Christians to speak. Amen.

thanks a bunch Ezra

In Other News

A decision remains pending at Mr. Lemire’s hate speech tribunal. In a phone interview on Thursday, the woman said the RCMP told her they do not have proof her account was hacked, nor proof that it was not, and to investigate further would involve going after technical data from a website based in the United States, stormfront.org, which they said is not possible. national post

Well that’s a relief. Apparently the Horsemen cannot possibly, ever, get to records of sites in the US. Who knew?

Oddly, Lemire maintains he has an affidavit from the site owner in question which attests to the logs kept at that site. And the RCMP, Sgt. Stéphane Turgeon to be precise, has that affidavit.

And interesting that this decision appeared in the media before the complainant or his lawyer was informed.

I suspect over the next few days the internet is going to see a through airing of what information the RCMP had and did not have. I note, just for fun, that at the police level, the question is not “beyond a reasonable doubt. It is just a smidgen lower unless there is a buddy relationship.

I wonder if there is.

Perhaps an Memorandum of Understanding…

Update: Ezra is asking a few pointed questions.

Mea Culpa

A few days ago I posted a comment to Dawg’s blog which written by a woman named Diana Ralph. The document can be found here. Sue, then Gus then Mordechai told me the claims in the document, particularily the claim that

“Ed Morgan, the outgoing CJC president and Bernie Farber, the CEO proudly listed their top accomplishments:

- Trying to make criticism of Israel or Zionism illegal as a hate crime”

were not true.

I called Ms. Ralph, twice. Each time leaving a message with my number. She has not called back.

I also called Bernie Farber.

We had a great chat. In the course of which he flatly denied ever having said such a thing. And he pointed out that the meeting was open to the press and that the Ottawa Citizen was represented.

Rightly, I believe, he stated, “It would be crazy for me to say such a thing”.

I believe him. And I believe not just because it would have been crazy but also because the CJC has been very clear about its view that criticism of Israeli policy was fair ball and that the only issue for the CJC was when people denied the right of a Jewish state to exist.

I made a stupid mistake. The mistake was in believing the writing of a woman whose views, as I dug more deeply, are profoundly anti-Zionist and brutally anti-Israel. This is exactly the sort of “progressive” person who, in virtually any other circumstance, I would distrust to my bones.

And here is my real error: I cited her writing because it fit my own narrative in the particular thread I was arguing. I let my desire to make a point cloud my inherent skepticism about “progressives” writing about Israel. I was simply unwilling to believe that anyone would “just make stuff up” about a public meeting attended by several hundred people.

And I was wrong.

I want to apologize to Bernie Farber and Professor Ed Morgan for taking Diana Ralph’s written word for it. I should have checked and I didn’t.

I am cross posting this to the Dawg so the people there receive the same apology.

Now, if Ms. Ralph has something to say, she has my number.

I doubt she will.

Big 3…Down

Dawg has a post up about the Big 3 car makers. he suggests that holding your hat out has something to do with capitalism. It doesn’t. Bankruptcy has quite a lot to do with capitalism. Assets are re-allocated, labour contracts voided, pensions cut way back and shareholders out of luck.

However, a bailout will not let that creative destruction happen. Instead, it will keep a clearly dysfunctional set of organizations going for another few months. Then what? the wages will still be too high, the executives will still be paid too much and customers will still not want to buy the product. The only thing which will have changed is that several billion dollars will have been flushed down the rat hole.

Capitalists don’t do that sort of thing, Dawg, governments do.

Lying Jackal Muzzled??

Ezra thinks so:

Since joining Ignatieff’s team, Kinsella hasn’t gone totally mute on the subject, but his volume knob has been turned down 90%. I’m sure Kinsella would have been in full dudgeon about the Conservative Party’s convention vote on the subject had he not on Ignatieff’s campaign.

It’s obvious that’s the only reason why Kinsella has cut back the vitriol – nothing else has changed, except that Kinsella is answering to some grown-ups now, and he can’t embarrass his boss. ezra levant

The Jackal has certainly pulled it back. And when he debated my pal Mike Brock he seemed to have lost a lot of the prior vitriol. He wanted to go out to the boundaries of absolute free speech and try and drag in child porn. Which made no sense at the time but if he has been told to stick a sock in it by Iggy that would be something of an explanation.

Hall Monitors

Kate already had this but:

Students who make politically incorrect comments at Queen’s University can expect a lecture, whether they’re in or out of class, the Canadian Press reports.

The university has hired student facilitators to step in if they overhear students making homophobic or racial slurs, remarks bashing women or other offensive language. whig standard

I wonder what will happen if a student who is interrupted tells the hall monitor to piss off.

Kathy was dead accurate when she named her book, “The Tyranny of Nice”.

Missed my own Anniversary

I started my old blog 10/13/2002. So, er, six years of this.

I mention this in light of Kate’s hitting the 10K post mark for which huge congratulations! I have no idea how many posts I’ve made, a quarter that number, maybe a third. But mine are longer which no doubt explains why her traffic is ten times mine.

Pace Alan , I think blogging has made a difference and not just on Free Speech. It has allowed people to read well outside their comfort zones and, in a funny sort of way, notwithstanding the trolls, lets people understand how the people they disagree with think. Which is, occasionally, the first step towards understanding if not agreement.

Update: Kateland has found a site which analyzes homepages according to whether it thinks the site is written by a man or a woman. Her site 85% chance written by a man. My homepage 89% by a man. SDA 73% by a man. Five Feet of Fury 80% by a man. Ezra 84% by a man. Dr. Dawg 61% by a man. Lying Jackal 64% by a man. Gen-X 71% by a man. Flea 75% by a man. No one but us men on the net…Actually I tried a few really girly sites and they all came up “man”.

Update: But, apparently, started a meme. Manly (95%) Jules Crittenden does the US blogosphere on Nov 21 and is noticed by noted Australian metrosexual (72% female) Timmy Blair on the 23rd who points at fellow Aussie Andrew Bolt scoring a testosterone challenged 51% male.

My conclusion: Canadian women are rather more manly than Aussie men….but we knew that already. And they’re way prettier.

Wag the Dawg

Over at Dawg’s place is a post about the nasty Israelis blockading Gaza.

Here’s what the Palestinian Authority has to say:

Palestinian Authority officials in Ramallah accused Hamas on Tuesday of staging the latest blackouts in the Gaza Strip in a bid to win sympathy and incite the Palestinian public against Israel and the PA.

The officials said that contrary to Hamas’s claim, there is no shortage of basic goods, medicine and fuel in the Gaza Strip, largely thanks to the many underground tunnels along the border with Egypt. jerusalem post

As I have pointed out at Dawg’s: 1) there can be no blockade without Egypt, 2) if you shoot rockets you are lucky if a blockade is all you get, 3) this is Kabuki designed to appeal to Guardian readers and aging lefties.

There is something rather touching about the ceaseless naivete of the Dawg and his fellow pro-Pali lefties who fall for every Hamas propaganda stunt regardless of the facts. In an earlier era they would have stepped over the corpses to praise the worker’s paradise of the Soviet Union and the many splendors of the Cultural Revolution. Now they have to content themselves with supporting violent, anti-Semitic, misogynist, homophobes bent on genocide. Unfortunately, it is not much of a stretch.

Arrrgh….

Somali pirates have already earned more than ÂŁ20m in ransom payments this year, and individual ships have recently been fetching millions of dollars each. At least a dozen vessels and more than 250 international crew members are being held hostage. Most of the ships are anchored near the fishing village of Eyl, high on Somalia’s Indian Ocean coast, including the Ukrainian-owned MV Faina, which is carrying 33 Russian-made tanks. guardian

Looks like that ransom thing is working out well.

One would think that the combined navies of the world would be able to stop the pirates or at least convoy the ships. I suppose it is too much to ask for a Hornbloweresque character to actually sail a well armed naval vessel into the pirate cove and simply shoot several hundred of them.

And planes. I hear there are planes not too terribly far away. Here’s a thought: if you see a speedboat full of armed men offshore for no good reason you use those cannon things and sink it. Do that a few times and the “pirates” will think several times before venturing out. With planes you can mark off an exclusion zone and simply sink any unauthorized vessels within that zone.

(And sure, by all means put out leaflets, explaining what you are doing. Although I would do that after the task force went into to shoot up the pirates at their base.)

Update: Another approach.

Of the Naming of Names

And that’s why name calling is not only excusable in our fight — it is indispensible. Our opponents don’t approve of such things, or they wouldn’t be trying to arrest people for the “crime” of making rude, dumb jokes about immigrants on the internet. Since we know rudeness really gets our opponents worked up — enough that they are trying to impose a “tyranny of nice” by force of law — then let’s bug them by calling them names.

Duh. Really, folks: Do you want to win or what? five feet of fury

Kathy, in her unique, provocative, way gets three quarters of the strategy dead right.

The last quarter is humour and a sense of fighting joyfully. And that comes from Mark Steyn as much as anyone else. We are fighting against dour, pinch faced, bureaucrats, careerists and lawyers (often all combined in one person). These are not happy warriors. They have no sense of humour much less of the absurd.

People - in my comments and elsewhere - will prattle on about how inappropriate our name calling, “Lying Jackal”, “Lucy”, “the Sockpuppets”, is. We will not be taken seriously. Adults will have kittens if we don’t treat the little autocrats with respect.

Bull.

A year ago there was no serious free speech movement in Canada. A year ago the only people who gave a rat’s ass about free speech were huddled in their basements being harassed by Lucy and the corrupt rats at the CHRC. We have come a very long way in a year.

99.9% of the CPC Policy Convention delegates which included dozens of CPC MPs and the Minister of Justice, voted in favour of repealing s. 13. And they did it because us name callers have spent a year mocking and ridiculing the little Chekists at the Commission.

So, while we appreciate the polite efforts and advice of the adults, excuse us while we play a winning game. And, yo, adults, the fact is that a fair number of us speechers have a fair bit of experience in politics, journalism, publishing, marketing, organization and public relations. Possibly more than you do.

Here’s a hint: you do not want to see “Plan B” ’cause if you do the CPC will not attain a majority next election or the election after that.

Update: Hi Steynians! If you have a moment read the comments below…many names are called and a good time had by some.

Six Months of Fun

Federal Liberal leadership contender Bob Rae made good on his threat to boycott the party’s first all-candidates’ forum on Sunday after learning it would not be open to the media or the public.

Rae put in an appearance at a hotel in Mississauga, Ont., where the meeting was taking place, but denounced the closed-door policy and refused to take part.

“If we’re going to have a successful renewal of a political party, it has to include the public and it has to include the media,” he told reporters who had gathered at the hotel. “We can’t have a discussion that doesn’t include the media. It’s just not possible.”

“You can’t have a townhall without the town,” he added. cbc

Brilliant.

The key piece to finally burying the Toronto Party is ridicule within the enclave. “Liberals bicker” begins the CBC headline.

The Toronto Party looks silly banning the “town” from the townhall. But it is exactly the way these poor Annex stooges think they should behave.

More Thought Experiment - Registration

To get the Party name on the ballot - which is important because a lot of the Real Tory candidates will be more than a little obscure - you have to conform to the registration provisions of the Canada Elections Act. You have to have a party leader, a chief agent, an independent auditor, officers and 250 members.

To have the registration continue through a General Election you must officially nominate at least one candidate. (Which is a process in itself and requires a refundable $1000.00 deposit.)

It is a little early to be turning thought into action. However, none of the requirements for registration would be very difficult to meet with, say a couple of months in hand.

So, further the thought experiment, while we wait to see if 99.9% support is enough to have the repeal of s. 13 in the Speech from the Throne, it might be a good idea to consider if you would join such a party and if you have friends who might as well.

Is Haroon Siddiqui the dumbest man in Canada??

A Somali Canadian mosque in Toronto is being condemned, rightly so, for carrying anti-Semitic and anti-Western messages on its website. This, though, does invite a question: Where are the free-speech advocates defending the right of this group to say whatever the heck it wants? the star

Let’s see…has the CJC filed a human rights complaint against the anti-Semitic Somalis? Why no. Nor has anyone else.

So they are being given their right to free, if vile, speech. Now, the day that the CHRC is engaged I will be right there to defend these ignorant Islamic bigots from the state. However, if the state is not involved, so far as I can see, there is no free speech issue.

Surely Haroon is smart enough to figure that out…

(His commentors sure are call it 10:1 pro Free Speech and they really hand Haroon his head on his endless carping about poor, oppressed Muslims.Any bets how long the five pages of comments stay up.)

This Should Be Fun: Brock on the Attack, Jackal in a Cringe

“TUESDAY, Nov 18 - Human Rights Panels. Canadian Jewish Congress chair Bernie Farber, author Waren Kinsella, blogger Mike Brock and lawyer Noa Mendelsohn Aviv on Michael Coren.”

My pal Mike Brock (on whose radio/podcast the Al and Mike Show) is a hardcore libertarian and major free speech proponent. Noa Mendelsohn Aviv runs the Freedom of Expression section of the Canadian Civil Liberties Association (note to BCL and Dawg - I don’t think she’s a Nazi but I’ll check).

The Lying Jackal we know and Burny is a well know autocrat who runs the Canadian Jewish Congress.

What’s interesting is that the Jackal and Burny apparently asked to be on the show. Hmmm. Wonder why?

Now, look at the date, November 18 six days before the CHRC gets Mooned by their handpicked internal investigator on Monday November 24. Three days after the CPC votes to repeal s. 13.

The Commission has had the Moon Report for several weeks - it is off being translated into French at the moment. Speculatively, do you think the Jackal and Burney might have had a heads up on the contents of that report? And do you think that report might just be a tiny bit critical of the shenanigans the CHRC has been indulging in?

Now the Jackal is a cunning creature and he knows you want to get out in front of bad news. We’ve already seen the fallback - mistakes were made, tweaks, staff training and anyone who says otherwise is a Nazi - but keep s. 13 as the last barrier to the hordes of neo nazis surging through Canada’s streets.

After the terrific victory at the CPC policy convention today, the Free Speech rebellion in Canada has moved front and center on the CPC agenda. Harper’s own Minister of Justice voted for the repeal of s. 13 as did a substantial number of members of his caucus.

The Jackal knows this. He knows Burny is losing. He knows the trout and the cowboys in the hate speech section are in danger of being tossed. So he wants a debate. One problem of course - it is unwise to debate someone who is suing you or has threatened to sue you so a good chunk of the blogosphere was left on the sidelines.

But Brock wasn’t. And my pal Mike is going to wipe the studio floor with the Jackal. Any bits Mike misses Noa Mendelsohn Aviv will pick off with a lawyer’s eye for the fatal detail. I suspect that Burny will play the Barney role and be pulled out to make some lame point or other.

Blood sport on TV…

(OK, now, please, somebody, tape this for me….I don’t get Coren out here in Lotusland.)
